SCAD Design (originally SCHMIDLI Creation and Design) is a product and industrial design business founded by principal designer, John Schmidli. Full time operations began back in October 2004.
Products developed by SCAD design to date include, industrial test equipment, electrical connectors, plugs and sockets, telecommunications equipment, automotive equipment and many product developments for individuals with an invention idea who require professional design skills to bring their product to realization.
Prior to starting SCAD Design, John Schmidli spent 6 years as senior product designer and founding staff member of CER Technology Pty Ltd, an Industrial design consultancy based in Heidelberg, Victoria originally started by NZ group (HTS Systems). Later CER was purchased by Clipsal Australia for whom CER designed many products.
Prior to this, he spent 12 years as a designer in the appliance industry and 6 years in toolmaking.
SCAD design can provide a full concept to manufacturing program or any mix
of services including 3D CAD modeling, photo-realistic
renderings, animation, technical manuals and illustration, artwork, drafting,
PCB design, working and visual prototypes plus liaising with toolmakers and
