The JW SWING ORCHESTRA has been in existence since 1974 under the leadership of clarinetist, JOHN WANNER.

Throughout its history, John has managed to obtain numerous rare, authentic and exciting arrangements of the Big Band Era. Most of these are popular SWING standards of the 1930's to the 1950's.

Authenticity is very important to John and very little compromise is made in the reproduction of these fantastic songs and TOP QUALITY MUSICIANSHIP IS ALWAYS PRESENT!

We can also play melodies from the 1960's and 1970's, but SWING MUSIC of such bands as Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Jimmy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, etc, is what the
JW SWING ORCHESTRA is all about.

Musical styles of the era vary from driving swing, to soft ballads; novelty dances and latin rhythms to bouncing boogie woogie numbers.

Many of the arrangements are originals from the period, with such arrangers as: Billy May, Ray Conniff, Will Hudson, Jerry Gray, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, and many more, including several original arrangements by the leader, JOHN WANNER.

The vocal styles of artists including Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Perry Como, are presented by the
JW SWING ORCHESTRA's featured vocalist/mc, DAVID MOONEY. Additional female vocal styles of
Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, Judy Garland and Billie Holliday are presented by KEREN SUMMERS.
